ARTISTS I ADMIRE |
Shatia Hamilton's character designs are top notch with beautiful coloring and color themes. Her illustrations show how advanced her themes are and what emotions she strives to give the reader with each image. Again, another woman with great character developement, with Rocky as a crazy yet cool guy, Freckle the timid character with an underlying psycho complex and Mitzi May as their queen and employer. Her comic is full of mischief and some life-threatening but silly situations. Daniel Merriam's fantasy art is something to be amazed at. His art is believable yet not at the same time with buildings and fish occupying a city, adorned with big jewels and moons with faces. Axer draws anthropomorphs, humans and fantasy all with smooth and beautiful coloring. His lines are as smooth as his coloring and the light is portrayed amazingly accurate. The characters he draws are liquid and soft. With bright colors and thick lines, Bara takes the stage by force. Her colors pop out and texture draws the eye to every detail of her pieces and the reflective light is interesting with different colors. The fantasy art drawn by Linda Bergkvist is interesting and imaginative. Her pictures are photo-perfect as she uses many references to draw the viewer's eye around along with darks complementing lights and colors complementing other colors. Len-Yan's artwork has progressed amazingly over the course of her years as an artist. Her characters are pointy and rigid but it works because of the somewhat punk theme she has throughout her artwork. |
