    Fall Activities

In Connecticut, September brings ripe apples followed by apple festivals, apple pies and apple cider.  At Lake Garda, first graders took a September field trip to an apple orchard to pick apples.  We read Ten Apples Up On Top by Dr. Seuss and practiced rhyming skills to follow the pattern of the book.  Children wrote rhyming words about what they could do with ten apples up on top such as "I can hop with ten apples up on top".

Other students created postcards describing their summer vacations.

In November, children made turkeys out of colored paper.  On each feather, children wrote about something they were thankful for!
