    SIxth grade art concepts are expanded from the basics learned in elementary school. Production of art, art criticism, and art history are taught. Projects become more advanced requiring multiple classes to complete. Sketch books for journaling and homework are REQUIRED and homework is assigned. Home work counts for ten percent of each student's overall grade. A written paper will be assigned as the final home work assignment and is worth an additional ten points. This is a good opportunity for students to do extra credit in order to raise their grade.Each lesson builds homework and prior projects. Students are encouraged to maintain the scope and sequence by completing all assignments. During the Art UA rotation four major projects will be taught:

    A Hair Raising Adventure; line portraits,

    Paddle Pots; coil pots made in the style of indigenous world peoples
