Welcome to the 5th grade Har-Bur Middle School Spanish web page! 20-minute daily lessons are offered to all fifth grade students. Conversational vocabulary as well as the cultures of Mexico, Central and South America are introduced to students over the course of the year.
Expectations at this introductory level of second language learning include:
* Acceptable and accurate pronunciation
* Participation in studied or guided conversations with acceptable and
understandable responses
* Recollection of vocabulary with visual aides
* Participation in guided writing and prompted phrasing
* Understanding similarities and differences between the cultures of Spanish
speaking countries and students' own culture
* Geographic identification of the Spanish-speaking world
