Course Descriptions:
Grade 6
Technology Education is provided to all sixth grade students. The goal of the course is to give students an awareness of the role Technology has in our society and its impacts. Students will be involved in hands-on activities both individually and as groups in the following Technologies: Transportation, Manufacturing, Communication, and Construction. Emphasis is on group interaction, problem solving, and following directions.
Grade 7
Technology Education is provided to all seventh grade students. The goal of the course is to give students the opportunity to explore the technologies in the areas of Transportation, Construction, Manufacturing, and Communication. How these technologies influence our lives socially, economically, and environmentally are discussed. Group hands on activities, as well as individual projects will be provided. Emphasis is on group interaction, problem solving, and following directions.
Grade 8
Technology Education is provided to all eighth grade students. The main focus of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to develop a product. Students will also be involved in CAD and Architectural Drafting. Group hands-on activities, as well as individual projects will be provided. Emphasis is on group interaction, problem solving, and following directions.
-Students will be able to demonstrate basic problem solving strategies
-Students will be able to Use basic hand tools and equipment safely
-Students will be able to utilize the Design Process in their daily activities
- Students will be able to create two-dimensional drawings
-Students will be able to create three-dimensional drawings
-Students will be able to use a CAD program to generate Multiview drawings
-Students will be able to use a CAD program to generate a 3D Home
-Students will be able to use power tools and power equipment safely
