HAR-BUR BASEBALL
(May 1, 2008) GAME 1 The Har-Bur baseball team began their 2008 season by defeating a tough Litchfield team 5-4 in Litchfield. Drew Millum pitched five strong innings to earn the victory. Chris Daniele came in to relieve Drew and earn the save. Jake Wazorko and Brady Hecht each contributed two hits in the victory. Ryan Niedmann, Mike Bahlman, and Tim Rolka drove in important runs. Good Win Boys!
(May 6, 2008) GAME 2- The Har-Bur baseball team traveled to Northwest Region 7 and lost a tough game, 9-6, on Tuesday afternoon. The boys quickly found themselves behind 6-1 after two innings. Har Bur then scored three runs in the fifth inning to make the score close. Unfortunately, the boys could not maintain their momentum. Northwest Region 7 scored three runs in the last two innings to hold the lead. Mike Bahlman, Billy Buys, Brady Hecht, and Drew Millum played well in the loss. Keep working Boys!
(May 13, 2008) GAME 3- The Har-Bur baseball team lost a tough game at home on Tuesday afternoon to Chippens Hill 2-1. In a very close game, Chris Danielle pitched six very strong innings allowing only three hits and no runs. The boys came to life and scored a run in the sixth when Mike Bahlman singled to drive home Jake Wazorko. Unfortunately, Chippens Hill scored two runs in the top of the seventh to win the game. Drew Millum and David Neuhausser added hits in the game. Tough Loss Boys!
(May 15, 2008) GAME 4-The Har Bur Boys Baseball team traveled to Avon on Thursday afternoon and won 2-1 in an extremely well played TEN inning game. David Neuhausser pitched four strong innings , striking out six, while allowing only two hits. Tim Rolka came into relieve for two important innings. He later delivered an important double in the game winning inning. Mike Bahlman picked up the win by pitching four strong innings. He helped himself with some outstanding fielding plays. Ryan Reynolds and Aaron Ugalde also played superbly in the field. Brady Hecht and Joe Bruzas were among the hitting stars. Chris Danielle had two important hits. His double in the tenth inning sent Sam Bergstrom across home plate with the winning run. What a great game!
(May 20, 2008) GAME 5 - The Har-Bur boys baseball defeated previously unbeaten Pearson Middle School 11-3 on Tuesday afternoon. After falling behind 2-0, the boys scored one run in the third inning and two in the fourth to take the lead. They then exploded for eight runs in the sixth inning. David Neuhausser picked up his first win by pitching six strong innings. He struck out nine batters. Joe Bruzas came in the seventh inning and closed the door by striking out the side. Jake Wazorko, Brady Hecht, Tim Rolka, Drew Millum, and Ryan Niedmann delivered important and timely hits. Despite the cold rainy weather, the Har-Bur boys were hot. Great Win Boys!
(May 23, 2008) Game 6 - The Har-Bur boys baseball team played Fisher Middle School at home on Friday afternoon. They were not the best of hosts as they exploded for nineteen hits and nineteen runs in a 19-4 victory. Joe Bruzas and Ryan Neidmann each had four hits and drove in three runs. Brady Hecht scored three runs and had three hits. Ten players had at least one hit. Drew Millum earned his second victory of the season with a fine pitching performance. Colby Prestash pitched very well in relief and Kyle Eisenmann finished off the game. Excellent Win Boys!
(May 28, 2008) Game 7 -The Har-Bur boys baseball team once again played Fisher Middle School away on Wednesday afternoon. Things did not start off very well for the Har-Bur boys. After five innings of play, they found themselves behind 10-3. In the sixth inning, the Huskies exploded for five hits and eight runs. Tim Rolka, Joe Bruzas, and Aaron Ugalde were certainly the stars of the game. Tim came into pitch in the fourth inning. He only allowed one run and picked up the win. He also produced a base clearing double in the sixth inning. Joe Bruzas hit a double off the left field wall, approximately 325 feet away. It also cleared the bases of runners. Joe came into pitch in the sixth and seventh innings. He struck out six batters. Aaron Ugalde had three hits and scored three runs. Har Bur won the game 12-10. What a great win boys!
(May 30, 2008) Game 8 - The Har-Bur boys continued their winning ways by defeating Northeast Middle School 12-5, in Bristol on Friday afternoon. The bats came alive as the Huskies produced fourteen hits in the victory. Five players, including Jake Wazorko, Mike Bahlman, Kyle Eisenmann, and Aaron Ugalde had at least two hits. Brady Hecht's bat was explosive. He had two doubles and drove in five runs. Drew Millum earned his third victory of the season by pitching four strong innings. Once again, Joe Bruzas pitched in relief and had five strikeouts. Keep it going Boys!
(June 3, 2008) Game 9 - The Har-Bur boys won their sixth game in a row by defeating Pearson Middle School 9-2 in Winsted on Tuesday afternoon. In a strong team effort, the Huskies combined quality pitching and excellent defense to gain the victory. David Neuhausser earned his second victory of the season by pitching four strong innings. He struck out three batters while allowing only one run. Colby Prestash came in and provided excellent relief for David in the fifth inning. Bobby Martinotti and Jake Wazorko contributed to the victory with good defense and clutch hitting. Another Good Win Boys!
(June 5, 2008) GAME 10 - The Har-Bur baseball finished their season in a very successful manner by defeating Northeast Middle School 4-0, at home on Thursday afternoon. Four pitchers, Drew Millum, Tim Rolka, Mike Bahlman, and Joe Bruzas dominated Northeast hitters by allowing only six hits, while striking out eight batters. Mike Bahlman had a sensational day, making two outstanding catches in the outfield and producing two big hits. Billy Buys, Jake Wazorko, Aaron Ugalde, Sam Bergstrom, Brady Hecht, and Bobby Martinotti contributed very good defensive plays. The Har-Bur Huskies completed the season by winning seven straight games. Their overall record was 8 and 2. GREAT SEASON GUYS!
