For all Eight Grade General Math Classes, although a scientific calculator is sufficient, I do recommend a graphing calculator. There are many activities in the Connected Math Project text books that a graphing calculator can be utilized. In addition, your will be using this calculator for years to come.
I have included a link to a
Texas Instrument information sheet on the uses of the graphing calculator. You can look that over and decide if you want to invest in one for this year or hold off on that purchase.
I do have several extra TI 84 plus calculators for students to share if they did not purchase one.
All Algebra and Geometry classes are expected to have a graphing calculator for class. (TI 83, TI 83 plus, TI 84, TI 84 plus) If you are unable to purchase one, see the teacher to make other arrangements.
