    Welcome to Mrs. O'Connor's room

Well, the weather has be very trick for Region 10 these past few weeks. Hopefully spring weather is right around the corner!

Our students are ready and well-prepared for the Connecticut Mastery Test. We have worked hard all year and as well as in years past.

There will be no homework assignments other than the regular nightly required reading during the first two weeks of March. Our hopes are for the students to relax and get plenty of rest as a way to further prepare for the Mastery Test.

    Some CMT tips:

Have your child get a good night sleep not only the nights prior to testing but the weekends prior, as well. Studies have shown that it takes your bodies at least 48 hours to recover from lack of sleep. So, those weekends are important to consider, too.

Take extra time to eat a healthy breakfast (brain food) on the days of testing. Stay away from sugary cereals that tend to make energy wear off more quickly than natural fruits, whole grains and protein.

Encourage your child to drink plenty of water especially when they're not at school. Hydration has be proven to help with focus and concentration.

Remind your child to relax. Every student is our class is well prepared for the test. We have been working on these skills all year. (actually since Kindergarten) So tell them to try their best, never give up, and breathe!
