Husky Hustle Fun Run Fundraiser
Hello HCS families,
Hope you are all staying cool in this heat!
Envelopes went home with your children today that included information about the upcoming Husky Hustle Fun Run. Again, we will not be running our usual fall “catalog” fundraiser this year and have decided to show our support for our kids by holding a fun run and encouraging activity and wellness. This is a great opportunity to show our children that we support them and their school. We are hoping that all of you will be able to join us on Friday, September 25, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at HCS for this event. This flyer contains more details about the event:
The children will be fundraising by class. A form will be going home tomorrow that can be filled out by you or your child so they can earn individual rewards over the next 17 days. Any class that raises $650 by September 16 will receive free Husky Hustle t-shirts. The top fundraising class on the 25th will get free t-shirts, a pizza party, and HCS school spirit water bottles. Prizes will also be given to the second- and third-place classes.
It is easy to share this fundraiser with friends, family, co-wokers, etc
. Your child’s class has been given it's own fundraising webpage. Go to http://harwinton.myfunrun.com
, click on Donate to Participant on the right side of the page, then click your child’s teacher’s name. You can share their class fundraising webpage with family and friends by clicking the Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail icons at the top of the page. A paper donation form that was sent home in your packet can also be used. We will provide regular updates about the progress of the fundraising and any news about the event.
We are also looking for parent/family volunteers. There are many opportunities to volunteer. As little as 20 or 30 minutes of your time would go a long way in making this event a success. Please use Volunteer Spot to sign up at http://vols.pt/osvVbC.
John Farrell, who will be finishing a weeklong residency at HCS, will kick off the event with a free concert. We’ll also have a silent auction, DJ, food, face painting, Spirit wear sales, and more.
Please stop by the PTO table at open house next week for more information about the Husky Hustle or feel free to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
UPCOMING EVENTS AND MEETINGS:
The HCS PTO has listened to the parents, guardians and staff
suggestions regarding PTO fundraisers and events. For the 2015-2016 school
year, the PTO has decided to completely remove the typical catalog fundraiser
from our fundraising line-up. This year the PTO plans to focus on community
This year instead of our usual fall "catalog" fundraiser we are introducing a new and exciting fundraiser called the "Husky Hustle". The event will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at LSM High School from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Food will be provided or families can pack a picnic dinner. We are working with a company called Myfunrun.com
What is the Husky Hustle?
- The Husky Hustle is a healthy fundraiser where students participate in a scheduled run (or walk).
- Throughout the fundraising campaign donations are collected online through Class Fundraising pages and in person with pledge sheets.
- Classes can earn rewards for reaching their fundraising goals.
- MyFunRun’s mission is to raise money for the school and teach children the importance of a healthy lifestyle which includes regular exercise and eating healthy.
We are looking for people who are interested in working on the playground committee. The construction is scheduled for the summer of 2016.
The following are some of the areas that we need help:
Soliciting local businesses for donations.
Selling donation bricks for a walkway.
Fundraising ideas and implementation.
Setting up online donation site.
Assisting in coordinating a community build day.
We will be planning a committee meeting in early May. Attendance is not required. There are many jobs large and small that we need assistance with. Please feel free to email with any questions, ideas and concerns to email@example.com
